Spirit Week!(:
Hi bloggers(: So lets talk about Spirit Week . Spirit Week was from March 4 to March 8 . The dress out days were ... Pre 1950's for Monday . Polka Dot Day for Tuesday . Aloha Attire for Wednesday . Military Day for Thursday . And lastly, Team Color Day for Friday .
My Observations: Negative
When i got back on Tuesday because of my absence on Monday, I thought that Monday was a great start because how smooth everything went when i came back . But then i realized it didn't . Mr. Ing was talking about this thing that happened at recess on Monday and of course i was confused because i wasn't there so i didn't really know what was going on . I automatically changed my thought of Monday being a good start . Then that kept me thinking that the rest of the week will be as bad as Monday . In other peoples eyes, i can see how they hated the things they had to do for Spirit Week like on Friday . Friday would probably be the day where everybody got stressed out about everything . Now, lets talk about how people dressed . So one bad thing i didn't like was how teachers were giving out cut fabrics for points . Like, thats cheating . The students are supposed to go in their closet and find clothing the has polka dots or camouflaged things on them . Teachers just can't go ahead and just give out pieces of fabric to their students . Ugh ! LOOOLk . The hardest dress out days that was hard to dress out would probably be Polka Dot Day because, boys don't usually own Polka Dot clothing and not much girls own Polka Dot clothing as well . Another one would be Pre 1950's . I guess that was a hard dress out because a lot of people were complaining when i got back on tuesday . Anyways ...
Positive
One thing i did like about Spirit Week was how the other people who wore things from their OWN closet really amused me . I thought they really care about their team and how they want their team to win . That was what Spirit Week was all about . Having Spirit within your teams . And i liked how i saw people enjoying Spirit Week . There was a lot of donations from every team and i thought before Spirit Week even happened, there wouldn't be at least one full jar of pennies but then my thoughts had changed . On the last day, which was Team Color Day, a lot of people dressed out . I didn't expect many people to dress out because of the other dress out days . I really liked Team Color day, our school looked so colorful(x LOL I also liked Military Day because many people also dressed out for that day .
Oh& Aloha Attire was a easy dress out . All you could've worn was a Hawaii Polo or a lei because we accepted them lei'sxD Okay .
Suggestions: Dress out days
Instead of Pre 1950's, one dress out day could've been something like Wacky Monday . Wacky Monday would be a dress out where people had to wear wacky clothes . Not necessarily like regular clothing but maybe, jean shorts over jean pants . Or long colorful socks with colorful sneakers . Haha . Since everybody hates Mondays because its the day after the weekend . And so maybe at school, people could enjoy how all the other people are dressing out . People with them wacky clothings . And i think, many more people would dress out for this particular kind of dress out . Cause its wacky(x
Instead of Polka Dot Day, we could've done something like Nerd day . Nerd day is a dress out where many people can still be using uniform as required and just have like suspenders, nerd glasses, etc . And this dress out would also be a dress out where many people would be dressing out . Cause i know, mostly half of the school owns at least a pair of nerd glasses and suspenders . These are two suggestions for dress out days .
Mini activities
I don't really know what the mini activities were because i wasn't someone who was responsible for that so i didn't really know what the activities were . But one mini activity would be Jeopardy . Each team would gather 1 student per homeroom and they would work as a team and play a little game of jeopardy . Another mini activity would be Rock, Paper, and Scissors . So again, 1 student per homeroom, 2 from different teams would play against each other and who even loses, loses and the winner gets to play a different student from a different team . So, eventually the last one standing would be the winner . Another mini activity would be the a multiplication worksheet with 100 multiplication questions and they only have 30 seconds to answer all of them . Whoever gets the most correct wins . And this way, this activity won't take up the whole advisory/lunch . One last suggestion for a mini activity would be, hand wrestling . This process goes the same way as how the Rock, Paper, and Scissors go . Okay, here are four of my suggestions for mini activities .
Major activities
One suggestion i have for the major activities are musical chairs . So at least 3 per team will be participating so that way, there wouldn't be that much chairs and so it would still be a fair game . I think since musical chairs lasts for a short period of time, maybe we could do 2 games of musical chairs . Whoever wins any round gets 25 points for their team . So yeah . Here's a suggestion for the major activities .
Problems I experienced and suggestions on how to avoid them
Problem: Not cooperating and communication well with others.
Solution: Just work together . People who doesn't usually work well together, just work together . You guys don't need to make up but still yet, your gonna have to work together anyways so just work together .
Problem: Not knowing what to do .
Solution: Ask questions . No question is stupid and the question you're going to ask is probably a question others are dying to ask too .
